Fish Chowder Mix
Ingredients: 12 Medium Potatoes 3lbs. Fisherman's Market Chowder Mix 2 Medium onions 6 Slices bacon, coarsely chopped, or cubed salt pork or 3 tablespoons vegetable oil 4tbsp Flour 4tbsp Butter 2 cups Milk 2tsp Salt 1/4tsp White pepper 1/2tsp Paprika 1 cup Cream Directions: Boil potatoes in lightly salted water for 10 minutes, or until partially cooked, but firm. Drain. Fry bacon or salt pork - or heat vegetable oil - over medium heat in bottom of a large heavy saucepan or kettle. Add onions and cook until translucent. Add flour and combine to make a paste. Reduce heat. Add milk, cream, butter, potatoes, haddock, salt, pepper, paprika. Simmer, but do not allow to boil for 1.2 hour. |
